Sustainability at the highest level Swisstainable is the sustainability programme of Swiss tourism. It has three levels: committed, engaged and leading.
Level III – leading is the highest. A business only reaches it with a comprehensive, recognised sustainability certification that is verified externally by the respective certification body. The level applies for as long as this certification is valid.
The label stands for the entire hotel, not for a single offer.

One of Switzerland’s grand hotels The Club Grand Hôtel & Palace was founded in 1984. It brings together Switzerland’s grand and palace hotels; more than 90 percent of these hotels are members.
Its aim: the name «Grand Hotel» should once again stand for what it meant in the Belle Époque, for outstanding quality and refined hospitality. To this end, the club preserves the heritage of these hotels, with the largest collection of historic hotel documents, more than 50’000 items.
